This year’s Invercairn Gala went out with a bang, with hundreds of residents and visitors attending the main Gala Day event last Saturday.

Despite the overcast and drizzly weather, visitors started arriving at the marquee from 1pm on Gala Day, to enjoy the wide range of fun family activities on offer.

Starting with a performance by the RBL Pipe Band, the main attractions at the Gala included 2wit2woo owl and raptor display, a magician’s display, the Archery Club, open 5-a-side football and a strongman competition as well as zorbing balls and other inflatables for younger visitors.

Inside the marquee, there was a display of photos from yester-year, a cake baking demonstration and the always-popular baby show.

The many stalls at the Gala event will included ‘Play Your Cards Right’, a whisky wheel, lucky dip and more.

Visitors were also treated to a host of refreshments, including kippers, burgers, hot dogs and the superb fish stall with an array of fresh produce.

In the evening, there was the Saturday Marquee Extravaganza - finishing the week with live music from Paradise J.
