A Resilience Planning meeting is to be held in Fraserburgh next month.

The meeting - which is being held to try and draw up plans in the event of a crisis situation in the town - is set to take place at 7pm on Thursday, May 14, at St Andrew’s Hall on Mid Street.

The meeting is expected to develop a plan for what local residents should do in a crisis scenario such as a major accident, fire, flooding or mass evacuation.

Fraserburgh Community Council is playing a leading role in the meeting having been asked to help develop the contingency plans.

It is believed that a number of members of the Community Council, an officer from Aberdeenshire Council and the new co-ordinator for the crisis planning scheme will be in attendance at the event.

Organisers also hope to contact the Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, St John’s First Aiders and the Red Cross to ask them to get them involved in delivering an action plan.
