Viewing the damage at Rosehearty’s ancient sea wall are: Councillor Mark Findlater, Elly Morrice, chairperson Rosehearty Community Council; Jim Gifford, Aberdeenshire Council opposition leader and Peter Chapman MSP.

There was a good discussion on a positive way forward for Aberdeenshire Council to repair this too long neglected seawall, before there is severe flooding and increasing danger to the old burgh and its community.

The seawall was built in order to protect the town and around the year 1800 Port Rae was extended outwards from it; thus making it a perfect port.
