Resurfacing works are under way at Kessock Park all-weather pitch - and are due to be complete within five to six weeks.

The facility, which is being entirely resurfaced, has been closed for a number of weeks while the works are carried out.

The all-weather facility is being resurfaced with a new 3G surface which is particularly well-suited for football.

In addition to the resurfacing, the facility’s drainage system is also being fixed at the same time.

It is hoped the repair works will be complete within five to six weeks - in time for the start of the winter season.

Commenting, chairman of the Fraserburgh All-weather Sports Facility Michael Murray said: “We’re delighted the surface is finally down.

“The previous surface lasted 10 years and the Board of Directors are delighted to see it finally happening.

“The cost is in the region of £460,000 and the resurfacing work has been a big commitment to Fraserburgh by the Council.”

“I wouldn’t be able to do the work I do for Kessock Park without the support of my employer SBP Accountants,” Michael added.
