Retailers in Fraserburgh have reported a buoyant trading period over Christmas and New Year.
The Fraserburgh Herald spoke to a number of businesses in the Broch shortly after the end of the festive period, including Justrite and Rodgers Electrical.
All of the firms we spoke to said they had enjoyed brisk trading over the festivities, with some saying it had been their best Christmas and New Year in years.
Commenting, George Donald of Justrite in Fraserburgh said: “It seems there were a lot of people shopping late on.
“The few days before Christmas and after Christmas seemed to be the busiest points.
“Most things seem to be selling reasonably well. However, there is less emphasis on winter product and more emphasis on everyday product.”
Cheers proprietor Dennis Forsyth commented: “The Christmas period was our busiest ever.
“The night of Christmas Day was particularly busy. Boxing Day was also busy - we had local band The Colours playing.
“We closed early on Hogmanay but other pub owners have said that they were busy. From my understanding it was the busiest Hogmanay night in years.”
Sophie Slessor of Rodgers Electrical said: “It’s been really busy, we’re really pleased. There have been a lot more people going about.
“The Smart TVs have been selling particularly well.
“There’s a lot of good deals at the moment and they’ll be continuing into the New Year.”
