A retirement tea was held for a long-serving carer at Albany Court in Fraserburgh recently.

The special event was held before community carer Sheila Strachan retired on Sunday, after 17 years in the post.

As well as Sheltered Housing complexes, Sheila also worked as a carer in the community.

Sheila lives in Fraserburgh and is due to travel to New Zealand to visit her son, daughter and grandsons over Christmas.

Sheila was presented with a host of cards and gifts at her retirement tea.

Commenting, Sheila said: “You meet a lot of people and it’s a really rewarding job.

“I’ve had great work mates as well, everyone works together. I’m going to miss it.

“I’d like to thank my work mates for my retirement tea today and I’d like to wish all my clients well and good health in the future.”
