A Rosehearty lady celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday March 18.

Helen Rennie, or Gaga as she is known to her family, celebrated the milestone with friends and family at her home in Lochbuy Farm.

Mrs Rennie was widowed in 1950, had four young children to care for and a farm to run but her family said that she is a lady who was never frightened of hard work and she was into her 90s before she accepted some leisure time was due to her.

Mary Gairn, her daughter, said: “She had a fall at the beginning of November last and broke her hip but true to her fighting spirit, she got through the pain of surgery and physiotherapy and is now fully mobile again.

“She is interested in everything, has a great memory and is a constant inspiration and adored by all her family, young and old.”
