Representatives of three local community cafes recently attended an Elementary Food Hygiene course hosted by The Four C’s Café in New Pitsligo.
Fourteen candidates gained their certificates and all found the day a tremendous help.
The course was arranged through the Shell Small Grants Scheme, which is administered by Buchan Development Partnership.
The Partnership has also recently arranged First Aid Courses for the volunteers at Willows Animal Sanctuary, Strichen and the Wayfarers Walking Group – again gratefully supported through the Small Grants scheme.
The next deadline for the Shell Small Grants round is on Friday, May 20, with grants awarded to support community groups and organisations within the Aberdeenshire Council area of Buchan, especially projects that will improve the quality of life for local people, and that have a focus on community safety.
Preference will be given to those projects where no other source of funding is available.
The grant could help with start-up costs (but not on-going costs), training, encouraging active community participation, equipment, marketing and promotional support. The maximum grant is £750
