A CAIRNBULG teenager is looking to blow away the audience at the Nex factor final in August.
Stephanie Buchan (19), is hoping she can continue impressing people after securing her place in the North East version of the popular television show.
Stephanie told the Herald: “I was e-mailed asking if I would like to audition. After applying I was told it would be a week before I would hear back.
“They posted on facebook those who were through and my name wasn’t on it. I then got a phone call saying the judges had been discussing whether to put me through or not and I was asked if I would like to be in the final as a wildcard entry.”
The Nex Factor singing competition highlights local talent in the 13 to 19 year-old bracket from the North East. The event has been organised by Scottish charity Malika Africa which is raising funds to build a school in Mirerani, Tanzania.
Stephanie has been singing for many years now and is not afraid of the big stage. She has already performed in front of the First Minister a few years ago at a charity event at the Marriott Hotel.
The accounts student is a big fan of Nickelback although she admits that she is more likely to cover songs done by Amy Winehouse.
The live final, which will be held in Aberdeen at the AECC on August 13 will see ten finalists perform with the winner being declared by the live audience.
The lucky winner will receive a studio session so they can record their very own song, a professional photo shoot and £1000 cash.
Acts that will perform on the night include Trade, 23Drops and Organixx.
