Hundreds have already registered for Fraserburgh’s Moonlight Prowl - and there is still time to join the 2013 event, say organisers.
This year’s Moonlight Prowl will take place on Saturday, June 1, and already many women have chosen to register online at www.moonlightprowl.co.uk
In order to ensure that as many women as possible have the opportunity to take part in the 2013 event, the closing date has now been extended to Sunday, May 12.
Commenting, committee member Anne-May Adams said: “Once again we are overwhelmed by the support this event has received from across north east Scotland. In order to ensure that all the ladies who wish to participate have an opportunity to do so, we have taken the unprecedented step of extending the application period for a further 2 weeks.”
The Moonlight Prowl is an annual event which raises awareness of breast cancer and encourages participants to improve their health and fitness.
With the option of a six mile or a 13 mile route, those taking part can choose the challenge which suits their ability and is often the first step to a more healthy and active lifestyle.
Since its inception in 2006 the Moonlight Prowl has raised in excess of £600,000 for breast cancer research at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the University of Aberdeen.
In 2013 it is expected that over 1,000 ladies dressed in pink will take to the streets of Fraserburgh through the night to show their support for this important cause.
