A creative writing competition for under-16s is to be held as part of next month’s Super Saturday.
The theme for the competition is ‘What’s wonderful about life in the North-east’, with entries to be up 1,000 words.
Winning entries will be published in the Fraserburgh Herald and will receive signed copies of books by the competition’s judges.
The authors who judging the competition are Mark Jackson, Anna Champney and Doug Simpson.
The top three writers will be chosen from within each age group: 5 to 8 years; 9 to 11 years; and 12 to 16 years.

The competition is open to anyone aged 16 years or younger. Organisers are asking entrants to be creative and bold but, above all, to have fun.
Please include the following at the top of your story: name, age, word count, email address, mailing address, phone number and, of course, the title of your story.
The final date for entries is Friday, December 5.
The winning writers will be announced on December 13 at the Festive Super Saturday.
