Gary Sim of the North of Scotland Tartan Army presented a cheque for £1,000 to Coxswain Vic Sutherland and the crew of Fraserburgh Lifeboat before their training exercise last Thursday evening.

The North of Scotland Tartan Army, NOSTA, is a club based in the North-east and their members follow and support the Scotland football team all over the world.

They gather membership fees which pays for travel and costs - but when there is a surplus at the end of the year they make a contribution to a charity which has some relevance to one or more of the members.

Following this year’s AGM which was held in Fraserburgh, the NOSTA committee decided to make a donation to the RNLI as Gary’s young daughter, Isla, was rescued by the lifeboat last year after she had got into difficulties at the beach.

Fraserburgh Lifeboat would like to thank everyone connected to the North of Scotland Tartan Army for such a fantastic
gesture.

It is very much appreciated and will go towards helping save more lives at sea.
