The BROCH had a surprise royal visit this week when The Queen popped into wish charity worker Tony Hurst happy birthday.
The Queen was not really in the Orphan Shop on Tuesday, but fellow shop worker Tina had dressed up for the occasion.
Tony had just had his beard and hair shaved off to raise more money for the charity shop when he was surprised by the visit. He was given a cake too and a sack full of presents by the charity shop workers to show their appreciation for all he does for the shop.
Tony said: “I am shocked and very pleased to have been honoured by the staff like this. I didn’t have a clue that this was going to happen. I would like to thank everyone for their gifts and the cake.”
The Queen (Tina) made a speech before she presented Tony with his gifts, thanking him for all his hard work and great charity efforts.
Tony was raising money for Zimbawe Orphans by having his sponsored head shaved.
A great number of shoppers and staff watched as Tony’s full beard and hair was shaved off.
