Three woman have received top awards for the work they do at Fraserburgh care homes providing care to elderly and vulnerable people.
The award winners were Debbie Simpson and Rae Cartney, who work at St Modans Care Home, and Roselle Alberto, who works at Kynnaird House Care Home.
Debbie said: “Thanks to all the residents and staff at St Modans for their help in achieving this and I look forward to sharing the award with them when I’m back at the home.”
Debbie won the Excellence in Dementia award while Rae won Excellence in Support Services and Roselle won the Nutrition and Eating Well award.
All the awards were voted for by residents, their families and fellow staff members for carers who went above and beyond the call of duty.
They picked up their awards at Meallmore Ltd’s annual awards ceremony at Perth racecourse on October 7.
Rae said: ““I’ve only been with the home for a year, so I was shocked to be nominated, and even more shocked to win.
“Thanks to all my teammates at St Modans, I couldn’t have done it without off of their support.”
Roselle said: “I’m absolutely stunned to have won the award, I wasn’t expecting it at all.
“Nutrition and eating are an extremely important part of resident’s care plans, so I’d like to thank the team at Kynnaird for placing such faith in me to manage this vitally important service.”
She added: “I look forward to getting back to the home and celebrating my success with my other team mates and the residents.”
Gerry Hennessey, Managing Director of Meallmore Ltd said: “I’d like to take this chance to congratulate Debbie, Rae and Roselle on their award wins and for their hard work over the past year.
“Our annual awards are an extremely important way of recognising the efforts of our hard-working teams.”
