19-year-old dies in road collision

Police Scotland have confirmed that a 19-year-old man has died following a road traffic collision in Mintlaw.

The one vehicle collision happened at around 8.50pm on Saturday, November 29, on Station Road in Mintlaw when a red Ford Fiesta left the road and collided with a tree.

The 19-year-old was a passenger in the vehicle and sadly died at the scene.

The 17-year-old male driver and three further passengers - an 18-year-old male and two 17-year-old females - were all taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to their injuries. None of their injuries is believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicle being driven prior to the collision, to contact them on 101.
