A 38-year-old female driver was flown by helicopter to hospital last Monday on the A90 near Lonmay.

She was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and was later said to be in a stable condition. No further update was available.

She was driving a black Audi A3 which had to be cut open in order for the driver to be removed from the wrecked vehicle.

Police Scotland said the road at the scene was expected to be down to one lane for several days due to the need for repairs to be made.
