A 52-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision on the Fraserburgh-St Combs road at Invercairn.

Police Scotland confirmed that following the two vehicle crash on Sunday evening a 52-year-old man died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The collision occurred at approximately 7.10pm on Sunday, September 28, and involved a green Vauxhall Astra and a gold Renault Scenic.

Three others were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101.

Sergeant Rob Warnock from the Aberdeenshire and Moray Road Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident that has sadly resulted in a 52 year old man losing his life. Investigations into the cause of the collision are at an early stage and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t spoken to police to do so. Additionally, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the incident is asked to contact us.”
