Spark causes fire at Broch Harbour

A spark from welding equipment has caused a fire on a trawler at Fraserburgh Harbour.

Firefighters were called at 5.07pm on Monday, December 29, to tackle the blaze aboard the Cornelis Gert Jan.

Three appliances and a total of 17 firefighters were dispatched to the scene of fire at the harbour on Shore Street.

The fire was extinguished with one jet, a hose reel jet and other small equipment.

There was one male casualty as a result of the incident.

The fire was brought under control at 5.47pm.
