Two woman have been airlifted to hospital following a crash in Fraserburgh this morning in which children were also involved.

Air Ambulances and Coastguard helicopters were called to the accident which occurred at 8:45 am on the B9031 Fraserburgh to Sandhaven road.

Two females driver were airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious but not life threatening injuries.

The children involved in the accident were uninjured.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "There were children travelling in one of the cars but they are uninjured."

She added: "The road is currently closed but will reopen soon."
