The winners of Super Saturday children’s Creative Writing Competition have been announced.
The competition, which was held as part of December’s Christmas-themed Super Saturday, attracted a large number of excellent submissions.
The entries were split between a number of categories, according to age, with budding writers being asked to write under the theme of life in the North-east.
The winners are: Caitlin Robertson and Miki Bronakowski (joint winners in the 5 - 8 years category); Owen Thomson (8 - 11 years category); Leanne Broadley (11 - 16 years category).
All four winners received signed copies of books from local authors Mark Jackson, Doug Simpson and Anna Champney - who also acted as judges for the writing competition.
Organisers of the competitions said entries were very creative and well-written.
Commenting, Mark Jackson said: “The entries were of a very high standard and they painted Fraserburgh in a very positive light with a lot of warmth and humour.
“It was very difficult for the judges to pick the winners but they were very worthy winners.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to the children and schools who took part.”
