Zander Sutherland scored a stunning hat-trick as reigning champions Brora Rangers won a thrilling game 3-2 at Fraserburgh.

It was the Broch who took the lead in the 14th minute, when Scott Barbour kept his cool from 12 yards out to convert a penalty awarded after a collision in the area.

But Sutherland soon drew Brora level, latching onto a fine pass from Andrew Greig and slotting past Scott Cowe. Chances came and went at both ends and it remained 1-1 at half-time.

Brora forged 2-1 ahead on 56 minutes with a second from Sutherland, he latched onto a pass from Steven Mackay and crashed the ball home from 10 yards.

Back came the Broch and they levelled when P. A. Bruce latched onto a header through the visitors defence to finish past Malin and make it 2 apiece.

The winner came from a defensive mistake from Fraserburgh and who else but Sutherland was there to take advantage, running through and slotting past Cowe to make it 3-2.
