Cruden Bay 2

Tayport 2

Cruden Bay entertained Tayport in the first round of the Scottish Junior Cup on Saturday.

The first half ended goalless with neither side managing to create decisive chances and all attempts were dealt with by the opposing defences as they managed to keep a clean sheet going into the break.

Robertson was called into action in the home goal when he came off his line towards the end of the half and saved with his foot a Sutherland as he bore down on goal.

The visitors went ahead, when Milne slammed the ball home following a cross from the right.

From the restart, Little put in a shot from the halfway line but Wilson in the Tayport goal managed to get back and save the ball under the bar.

The Bay managed to pull a goal back when Suttie was penalised in the box for shirt pulling.

Stainton coolly slotted the ball past Wilson.

The Bay went ahead with just eight minutes remaining on the clock.

Duncan did well on the right cutting into the box and putting in a low cross which was turned into the net by Gibb.

Unfortunately for the Bay their lead was short-lived when they conceded a free kick on the left, just outside the box.

Ramsay put in a cross which the Bay defence failed to clear and the ball bobbed about in the box, finally hitting Ross of the home side and going into the net, to leave the Bay with a trip to Tayside for a replay on Saturday.
