Fraserburgh secures victory against Keith

A hat-trick of penalties from Scott Barbour inspired Fraserburgh to victory over Keith at Bellslea.

Keith started brightly but it was Fraserburgh who missed an early chance when Steven Main went through but he shot straight at Daniel Bell.

The Broch took the lead in the twelfth minute when Barbour was brought down in the box.

The striker picked himself up and slotted the penalty home despite a valiant effort from Bell in the Keith goal.

Barbour made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute, converting another penalty after he was pulled down in the area by Mike Ralton.

Keith hit back straight away and Stuart Massie reduced the deficit when he fired home from 10 yards, making it 2-1 to Fraserburgh at half-time.

The home side almost made it three in the 54th minute, as Grant Noble set up Courtney Cooper who smashed his shot off the bar from just inside the area.

Six minutes later it was 3-1, Scott Fowlie scoring the goal of the game with a cracking strike into the top right-hand corner of the net.

Barbour completed his hat-trick and wrapped up the win for Fraserburgh six minutes from time with his third penalty of the afternoon.
