New Pitsligo entertained Bellslea in the Victoria Coaches Cup 1st round.
It was the visiting which took the lead in the first minute when Daryl Allan smacked a header from a corner against the bar and down into the ground, the match official correctly calling the ball had crossed the line.
New Pitsligo stormed back when they were awarded a penalty after a clumsy challenge by Milne on Stewart in the goalmouth.
Michael Fraser took the penalty which was saved by Hay in the away goal but it rebounded to Fraser who fired home.
Pitsligo then scored two quickfire goals, the first from James Cassie who smashed home a Stewart cross in to the top corner.
Peter Stewart made it three when he lobbed the out rushing Hay. Bellslea made it 3-2 with a goal from Jordan Clark before half time.
An even first 45 minutes with some good football being played by both teams. The second half began with Pitsligo missing a few chances and Bellslea working hard to reduce the deficit.
With around 20 minutes remaining of the game Bellslea were reduced to 10 men after Jordan Clark was sent off. This was to prove pivotal as Pitsligo took advantage of the extra man and sub Duncan just on the park for Pitsligo latched on to a through ball and lifted it over Hay and this sealed the game for the home side.
A good game and a good win for Pitsligo over an ever resilient Bellslea.
In another first round tie Mormond Thistle entertained Invercairn for a place in the quarter final. This was an entertaining match with both teams having a share of the eight goals being scored resulting in the match going to a penalty shootout whichthe home side won 5-4.
The home side scorers were Scott Sherwood who netted a brace and one each from Michael Cardno and Ross Brown and for the away side was Michael Lumsden with a brace and the others came from Matthew James and Ross Davidson with a penalty.
In the SoccerWorld Cup Quarter FinalElizabethan Link Up entertained Clinton Thistle and it was the home side that took the lead with a goal from Craig Whylie.
The home side were then reduced to 10 men after Ryan Noble was sent off.
Clinton hit back to lead 2-1 at the break. The home keeper Sinclair then saved a penalty but then the away side stormed the second half scoring another five goals to run out comfortable.
The wining goals came from JJ Sim and Daniel Smith both netting 2 each and the others came from Willie Noble, Scott Milne and Stuart Fowlie.
