‘Ruthless’ Fraserburgh in 7-0 Rothes thriller

Ruthless Fraserburgh smashed seven goals past Rothes at Bellslea.

Marc Dickson gave the home team the perfect start when he converted a penalty in the opening 90 seconds.

The Broch’s top scorer Scott Barbour scored his side’s second goal, placing the ball into the net after Rothes keeper Ricky Horne collided with one of his defenders.

Just after the half-hour mark, Bryan Hay powered in a header and Willie West fired home number four right on half-time following a good move by Fraserburgh.

The Broch’s fifth goal did not arrive until the 74th minute, substitute Steven Davidson scoring just three minutes after his introduction.

West then netted his second and Fraserburgh’s sixth goal courtesy of a header and Scott Fowlie completed the scoring following good work between him and Graham Johnston.

Result: Fraserburgh 7
