There will be a monthly meeting on September 7 at 7pm in the Bellslea Bar.

All 50-50 sheets and money plus all singles and doubles sheets to be handed in. Also all outstanding money for the Phil Taylor exhibition must be paid in full.

The Grampian Area Men's Superleague 2010-2011 season commenced last Sunday with a new sponsor at the helm.

Bert Fowlie, award-winning quality butchers of 26 High Street, Strichen, has agreed to sponsor the league for the next 12 months.

Lat Sunday's opening matches saw Fraserburgh overpower West Aberdeenn by eight sets to two in the R.B Legion Club, whilst Kinnaird lost out by six sets to four in a close encounter with Inverurie at the Elizabethan.

Top set of the match in the R.B L came from Broch's Colin Robertson (25.47) 3-0 in 20-19-20 darts. Other Broch winners were Derek Dennis (24.25), Mike Forbes (23.86), Dave Ridpath (23.48), Alan Smith (22.77), Richard Duthie (20.31), Ian Peck (20.25) and Jamie Hagen (19.02). Dave Ridpath hit two 14 dart legs.

Top set for Kinnaird against Inverurie came from Ally Bruce (24.69) with a match best performance winning 3-1 in 20-16-21 darts. Not far behind was Marc McBride (24.24) with a fine 3-0 win 20-26-16 darts with Davie Gordon (20.61) and Ronnie Ewing (19.58) being Kinnaird's other winners.

Kinnaird's next match is on September 26 away to Turriff at Aberchirder.

Fraserburgh's match which was scheduled for the same date at Inverurie has been postponed. A revised date for this fixture is awaited.
