Fraserburgh Ladies crowned league champions

THE Fraserburgh Women's bowling team have been crowned league champions. They have won the Scottish Womens Indoor Bowling Association (SWIBA ) Ladies League for 2009-2010.

It is the second time that the 'Saturday Quines' as the side in known, have taken the league title.

As a result of their victory, they travelled to Methil in East Fife last Saturday to play in a Promotional play off against the Ladies of Abbeyview in the semi-final:

"Unfortunately we did not make it on Saturday, Abbeyview played the better game and caught the fast speed of the carpet better than most of us.

"So, we will still be in our same division next year, which at least we know well and will not have extra travelling to do which is a good thing as well," said s spokesperson for the club.
