No shocks as top sides all win

THE top sides in the Fraserburgh & District Pool League all won comfortably last week.

League leaders Bellslea won 11-3 out at the Bancar, while Enigma whitewashed the Tufted Duck 14-0.

There were eight-ball clearances from Thomas Bannon and Kevin Gray.

The Legion defeated the Elizabethan 10-4 and the Pittendrum beat the Drum 10-4.

The February 50/50 draw winners are: Enigma 20, Pittendrum 15 and the Legion 10.

League fixtures for tonight Thursday 11 February are as follows: Elizabethan v Pittendrum, Bellslea v Enigma, Bancar v Cheers, Tufted Duck v Legion and the Drum have a free week.

Season 3 of the Top Break Pool Singles League got off to a busy start with 25 players turning up to play in the first week.

The early leader is Paul Johnston who defeated Janis Rinks 7-1 in 33 minutes, other results from Tuesday, 2nd February are as follows:

THE Masons Arms overcame The Kenyan in a closely fought KJM Plumbing League cup final in the Balaclava Bar, it was tight all the way with Raymond Sim taking the final frame to give the Masons a 8-7 win.

In the Senior Consultants Charity Shield semis, the Bay gained revenge for last week's league defeat against the Cassa, to set up a final with Findlays Bar who defeated the Royal in there semi.

Fixtures for 11-02-10:-

Royal v Balaclava; Kenyan v Whytes; Masons v Findlays; Bay v Forbes Arms; Cassa have a Free week.

Masons stiil top the league on 18pts followed by the Kenyan and The Bay hotel on 16pts, with the Kenyan having a game in hand.

POOL and darts players looking to join a new team are being urged to contact Fraserburgh Leisure Centre.

The venue is looking to form teams in both disciplines with a view to entering the sides into the local leagues.

Leisure Centre Manager David Watt told the Herald:"We would like to hear from anyone interested in taking on a new team or wanting to join a team.

"We had one years ago and it fell away and has never been started again," he said.

Any keen players of either darts or pool is asked to contact David Watt at Fraserburgh Leisure Centre in the first instance.
