On Sunday, September 9, the Rotary Club’s annual charity golf competition took place with the kind permission of Fraserburgh Golf Club.

The Rotary Club raises funds in various ways and many of these efforts are targeted for particular causes.

As such, this competition was very valuable because it gives the club funds to respond to some of the many other local and various causes that crop up during the year.

This year’s competition was a Stableford with ladies, gents and juniors sections for different handicap levels, as well as longest drive and nearest the hole prizes.

With the fine weather, the competition had a good turnout to both play and watch the day’s golf on an excellent course.

Rotary Club President Ann Bell said, “It was good to see the fun that people were having and we have to thank all those who helped. The Fraserburgh Golf Club is always very welcoming and we really appreciate their generous support in letting us use their facilities. We also much appreciate the many sponsors who support us either with donations or with raffle prizes.

I also wish to thank the Club members who put so much time into organising the competition and also those who helped on the day.

The Rotary Club Charity Golf Competition is one of main funds raising events and as such enables us to prove support to many charities both locally and internationally therefore I wish to thank you for providing us with some of the means that let us give that help.”

In total, over £2,500 was raised with the the help of the event’s sponsors: D & G Anderson; John Anderson Ltd; Bairds Pharmacy; Bank Of Scotland; Ban-Car Hotel; Banff and Buchan College; Andrew Begg; Bicocchi’s; B Raj Tandoori Restaurant; Broch Candy Shop; Brown & McRae; A Buchan & Sons; Caley Fish Limited; Cuddy Opticians; Darg Engineering; Clark Dental Clinic; Dimensions; Dingbro Limited; R D Downie; Stephen Duncan Heating and Plumbing; Dunes Golf Centre; Duthie & Summers; Elite Photographics; Farmlay Eggs Limited; J Fenty Insurance Services; Findlays Hotel and Resturaunt; Finlayson Street Surgery; Glover & Co; Bert Fowlie; Fraser Florist; The Gift Boutique; The Galleon Bar Diner; Bellslea Bar and Ship Inn; Garden’s Pharmacy; Gray & Adams; G & J Jack Ltd; Dennis Gordon Electrical Contractors; Hall Morrice LLP; The Inn at Heath Hill; Henry’s Blind & Carpet Centre; Inverallochy Golf Club; Johnston & Carmichael; Justrite; Riteway; Homestyle; The Kats Whiskers; Leiper & Summers; Fraserburgh Leisure Centre; Lovie Construction Ltd; Macrae Foods; Mace West Road; McDonald Stewart; Maitlands; Masons Arms Hotel; Masson & Glennie; Memsie Garage; North Street Dentist; Newline Building Supplies; A M Phillip; Philorth Catering; Rodgers Electrical; Rosehearty Golf Club; Royal Bank Of Scotland; S B P; Score Europe Ltd; Scottish Pelagic Fishermen’s Association; Stephens Newsagents; R Strachan; S T Tyres; Summers Pharmacy; The Gift Boutique; Allan Thain - Plumber; Tufted Duck Hotel; Crimond Medical Centre; Watermill Coaches; Waves Radio; C & A West Home and Garden Centre; Westward Fishing Company; Young’s Seafood Ltd, and Young’s The Jeweller.
