Bellslea win Charity Shield!

In the Fraserburgh and District Pool League, the two Bellslea teams contested the first cup final of the season in the form of the Charity Shield.

the first set of singles were shared 3-3 with the Bellslea ‘S’ captain, Jim Anderson, completing an 8-ball clearance.

Bellslea won the first doubles frame to lead 4-3, but the ‘S’ team hit back taking the next two to go into the final set of singles leading 5-4.

In the final set of singles, the Bellslea side got off to a flyer, winning the first three frames to lead 7-5, but 8-ball clearances from Allan Anderson followed by Neil Smith took the match to the deciding frame.

The ‘S’ team’s Dave Bisset went for the clearance, but just failed when his attempt at a double into the middle pocket on the black came back off the knuckle of the pocket which left Alexander C. Stephen to clear the table to lift the shield for the Bellslea.

The first match of the consolation cup also took place last Thursday, with the Bancar defeating the Tudor Bar 9-5.

Fixtures for tonight are the KO Cup final, Ark Tigers Vs. Bellslea ‘S’, and the second match in the Consolation Cup, Tudor Bar Vs. Elizabethan.
