Swimmers from Fraserburgh took part in a Masters Meet at Montrose last weekend, and were said to have ‘excelled themselves’ as part of a newly formed club.
The Banff & Buchan Master saw five swimmers represented at Montrose: Jordan Zacha, Micael Murray and Andrew Harvey from Fraserburgh; Sophie Ewan from Cullen, and Ryan Kazmarek from Banff.
Together they won: seven golds; five silvers; 5 bronzes; seven fourths; a fifth and a sixth.
As the only female who took part, Sophie won four golds and a silver by herself.
The team took part in a total of 27 swims and also achieved 20 Personal Bests and ‘many consideration’ times for the European Masters Meet next year as well.
And Andrew Harvey won the swimming trophy for the best in the 20-25 year age groups.
Chairperson of the local swimming group, Michael Murray reported that the group enjoyed taking part in the swimming competition and represent the Broch.
He said: “It was a brilliant day for all those involved and I would like to thank the coaches, Wendy and Andrew.
“I would also like to thank all the supporters who went down to Montrose to cheer the team on,” he added.
