THE recent Breast Cancer Open Golf Tournament and dance, hosted at Inverallochy Golf Club, has raised more than £4,000 for the Breast Cancer Care Centre in Aberdeen.

The tournament was a great success and more than 100 local gents, ladies and juniors golfers turned out on what was a sunny autumn day.

Many of the golfers then replaced their golf shoes with their dancing shoes and danced the night away to local band Boderline.

Chief Organiser, Joy Heron presented a cheque to Professor Heys from the Breast Cancer Care Centre following the successful event.

Speaking to the Herald, Joy said: “I would like to thank Inverallochy Golf Club and everyone at the club and all volunteers for their help, all the local businesses and people who handed in prizes and donations.

“The day was a great success and the money that was raised has gone to great charity which is very close to my heart.”

Taking the Gray and Adams Men’s Shield on the day was G. Taylor, while the Fraserburgh Vintage Car Rally Ladies Trophy was awarded to C. MacRae.

The R and D Roy Boys Trophy was won by R. Buchan.
