In the last game of the 2011-12 Indoor Bowls Ladies Inter-Club League, the Saturday Quines travelled to Inverurie to play the Ladies of Garioch. A win would ensure that the Quines finished second in the league following their blistering league form.

At the Garioch, the Quines took the lead from the off, looking comfortable despite having the away disadvantage to end the season.

However, the Ladies of Garioch soon began to make a game of the tie, and forced the Quines onto the defence.

The Saturday Quines were no pushovers, though, and, with everything to play for, the Broch’s ladies held on to come out winners on the day. The win means that the Quines will play Garioch once more in the League play-offs, having finished second, on Saturday, February 4, at 2pm.

The Quines would like to wish M. Malley, S. McLean and H. Robertson luck in their Ladies National Triles game on Saturday, January 28, at Mintlaw, as well as wishing young bowler Shannon Murray the best of luck in her first under-25 international game with Scotland at Bristol on Saturday, January 14.
