Fraserburgh Community Centre was host of the Scottish School Trials for swimmers on Friday, November 20th, with many Brochers doing well.
Head coach of the Broch Amateur Swimming Club Sarah Burkinshaw reported: “What a fun morning with some excellent swimming from our large squad of qualifiers at the Scottish School Trials.
“I’m sure after such strong performances a number of our swimmers will be making their way down to the finals in Glasgow in January.
“Our primary school swimmers certainly challenged themselves and had great swims resulting in some fast times.
“It’s so exciting to see the club have so many young swimmers display such potential.
“Greta job to Jess, Ryan B, Lisa Marie, Morgan, Skye, Emma S, Ally, Aimee W and Mia.
“Special mention to Emma D who had to withdraw because she was poorly, next time Emma.
“The older swimmers had some great swims too, with many new personal best times being recorded.
“Well done to Ross, Iain, Emma T, Emma C, Hannah, Ashleigh, Douglas, Gregor, Leia, Jack, Jenna, Amy, Andrew and Luke.
“Again, a special mention to Ryan D and Amber who we also withdrew due to illness.”
Describing watching the team compete, she said: “It was a buzz poolside in the morning; the atmosphere was fabulous with great teamwork.
“Thanks to all the parents who came along to support.
“And an extra special thanks to parents who came and officiated and to Pauline who, as usual , organised the officials.
“Thanks to Linda Herbert, who as always works tirelessly to make sure our Scottish School Trials take place and coordinates everything so efficiently.
“Thanks to Mr McCluskey of Fraserburgh Academy on the working partnership between the school and the swimming club, which will be of huge benefit to the swimmers.”
