Broch ASC took part in the Scottish Swimming Grand Prix Round 2 at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow last weekend.

All swimmers enjoyed their first long course meet of the season with great swims, some personnel best times and Scottish National consideration times.

Emma Thoirs, Jack Lovie and Luke Pearson all qualified for finals which was a great achievement in an open event.

Head Coach Sarah Burkinshaw along with team managers Kelly Pearson and Karen Lovie supported the team during the 3 day even.

Burkinshaw said:

“A reasonable start to the Long Course Season for some of the Gold /Platinum Squad who travelled to Glasgow this past weekend.

“For many it was there first experience competing at Tollcross .

“Although it can be quite intimidating they didn’t let it effect their swims and worked hard to fine tune their race ‘s.

“This resulted in some good times being posted and several swimmers making ‘B’ Finals.”

These were, Jack - 100 back, Emma T - 200 brst and 50 brst (Emma posting a strong 50 breast which currently has her sitting in the top 20 British rankings for her age) Luke - 200fly.

Burkinshaw added:

“These events are a great experience for the squad who continue to work hard to achieve consideration times for Scottish National Age Groups and the new Scottish Age Group Championships in July.

“We’d like to say well Done to Leia, Ryan, Jack ,Iain, Destiny, Luke, Amber and Emma T.

“We’d also like to say thanks to the support team who travelled down and as usual provided many funny moments.”

The group added that they “Had a blast!” at the event.
