Aden Country Park in Mintlaw will be host to a range of events and activities at the annual Heritage Fair, Country Fair next week.
Taking place on Sunday 27th, September from 11am to 4pm, the fair is a celebration of the local culture and farming traditions unique to Aberdeenshire.
Taking place predominantly in the central courtyard area of the park and within the award winning Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, activities will include: traditional music; craft demonstrations; family history; rural life, and photographic exhibition, among others.
There will also be access to the farming museum and a range of heritage related displays, stalls, and activities that illustrate what life was like for people in the past and how it has shaped Aberdeenshire’s countryside.
Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy a mixture of locally made craft and farmers’ market produce at a variety of stalls.
Included will be: handcraft jewellery; locally grown plants; home made preserves; sweets and confectionary; locally produced eggs, and Summerhouse Drinks from Fraserburgh’s Manse Farm.
And a range of vintage tractors, from the 1930s to 1960s, will be on display with working demonstrations at the nearby Hareshowe Farm.
Aden Development Worker Neil Shirran said: “Whatever your interest, the Heritage Fair, Country Fair and annual Vintage Tractor Working Day activities offer something for everyone, a rare chance to experience the sights and sounds of Buchan’s farming heritage.”
