Fraserburgh Academy pupils have discovered that, at the end of the month, they will compete in the finals of the Global Rock competition to be held in Milton Keynes.
The Global Rock Challenge, which involves schools throughout the United Kingdom, encourages an anti-alcohol and drug lifestyle.
This year, pupils at Fraserburgh Academy have taken this theme and added a new twist on the story of ‘The Wizard of Oz’, in which Dorothy must resist the temptations of the witch and peer pressure to choose her own path down the yellow-brick road.
Katrina Clark, a Global Rock cast and committee member said: “The cast and crew are so excited to be representing Scotland at the National Final along with Peterhead Academy and Arbroath High School. We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from the community both financially and practically. Due to the short notice of our entry to the National Final, any further support we receive would be greatly appreciated.”
