Local artist Marie Buchan has begun exhibiting her work in Cairnbulg this month, taking the time to talk to the Fraserburgh Herald about the experience.
Ms Buchan, who has previously exhibited in Fraserburgh with Café Connect with another artist, said she was looking forward to exhibiting her paintings alone.
“I did a course, a year long course, in computer art in 2010,” Ms Buchan commented.
She added: “I really enjoyed it and started taking it serious,” going on to explain that when the course at Banff and Buchan College had finished, in 2011, she began painting.
“It’s the first time I’ve done it on my own,” she said.
The paintings, which are completed in acrylic, oil or watercolour feature local scenes as well as landscapes and can be viewed at Cairnbulg Library until June 5.
Those wishing to purchase one of the paintings may do so my enquiring with the library staff at Cairnbulg.
Last week, Ms Buchan had hosted a well-attended art demonstration at the village’s library, teaching those there the fundamentals of painting with watercolours.
