It was suggested earlier this year that a pet show would be taking place at this year’s returning Fraserburgh Gala.
Taking on the task of organising the show, Gala Committee member Avril Reid had begun accepting entries to the contest.
The pet show, which will be exclusively for children up to 16-years of age, will take place on the last day of the Broch gala’s celebrations at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre and links.
Open only to children living in the AB43 area code, the pet show will commence at 1pm on Sunday, August 19 with all manner of dogs, cats and other small pets welcome to enter.
Entry forms are available from Motorparts at Barrasgate Road, Pets Palace, Mid Street, Buchan Vets, Finlayson Street, and K9 TIL 5, Frithside Street.
Entry is £1, with a cost of 50p for each additional class you choose to enter.
For more information, contact the Fraserburgh Gala Committee online via their Facebook page, a link to which can be found at www.facebook.com/FraserburghHerald.
Avril Reid has previously told the Fraserburgh Herald that the gala, which will now run from Thursday, August 16, should “restore community spirit” to Fraserburgh.
“I remember things like donkey derbies and dressing up floats, it’s something that’s lacking in Fraserburgh.
“It’s about time people took pride in their town again.
“It can only be a good thing,” she said.
The Fraserburgh Gala Committee have previously asked for volunteers to make themselves available to help with the running of certain events and tasks throughout the weekend.
