Singer-songwriter Benny Gallagher will appear at Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree next month.
A founder member of 1970s band McGuinness Flint, hit-making duo Gallagher and Lyle and an original member Ronnie Lane and The Slim Chance, Gallagher will be in concert at the venue on Sunday, October 19.
He will perform the hits he penned in the 70s which have since been recorded by a host of international artistes.
It was his and Graham Lyle’s astute composing abilities that propelled McGuinness Flint to the top of the charts with their songs “When I’m Dead and Gone” and “Malt and Barley Blues”.
After a brief but rewarding “dalliance” as members of Ronnie Lane and The Slim Chance, the duo enjoyed their own successes – the richly romantic “Heart on my Sleeve” and “I Wanna Stay With You”.
On record he has worked with Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend, Ronnie Lane and Elkie Brooks.
