More than 110 guests representing the local food and drink industry came together for an evening of great food in Aberdeen recently.
The guests attended the Grampian Food Forum Dining Club, which was held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Monday, February 3.
Members were treated to an array of local produce such as Deeside game pie, scallop and smoked black pudding and a Scottish seafood platter carefully prepared by Brian McDonald, AECC’s executive chef, and his team.
Diners had the opportunity to meet the many producers who took part including King Foods, The Smokehouse (Aberdeenshire), Isabella’s Preserves, Mitchells, Ola Oils, Gordon and Macphail and Murdoch Allan and Son Ltd.
Speakers at the event included chef Nick Nairn as well as Brian Pack, chairman of Taste of Grampian, who spoke about the new developments for this year’s event, which takes place on June 7.
Elizabeth Mathie, co-ordinator of the Grampian Food Forum, said: “We introduced the Dining Club in 2002 and this has been our biggest attendance so far, which just goes to prove that these events are still providing the local industry with a valuable platform to make new business contacts.”
Further Dining Club events will take place in May and September. For further information about these or other Grampian Food Forum activity, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
