World War 1 findings at Broch academy
3rd year History students at Fraserburgh Academy will be holding an open evening for the community, sharing local World War 1 findings.
The event will be held at the Assembly Hall of the Broch school tonight (Thursday, November 26).
The students will be presenting their initial findings relating to research they have undertaken about local people from Fraserburgh who lost their lives during World War 1.
History teacher Iain Macmillan described it as an ‘opportunity for people living in Fraserburgh to find out about relatives from that era, contribute to the growing database the students are creating and experience some features of the First World War.”
Visitors will be able to ask the students for information about Fraserburgh and WW1, look at presentations the students have created and examine artefacts from the period.
It is part of an ongoing project in partnership with the Fraserburgh 2021 regeneration scheme and the active support of the Fraserburgh Heritage Centre.
Fraserburgh 2021 is an ongoing plan to revamp the town.
