A group of 3rd Fraserburgh Guides took part in a morning of bulb and shrub planting at the Broadgate recently.
The girls were supervised by Guider-in-charge Jillian McLeod and were joined by a worker from Aberdeenshire Council for a morning of planting on Saturday.
Aberdeenshire Council provided the plants and shrubs, and the guides wasted no time in planting them in the containers close to the Old Parish Church and Saltoun Sqaure.
The guides took part in the initiative as they work towards their Baden Powell Badge, which focuses on helping the community.
Also as part of their badge, the girls planted a total of 14 trees at the town’s James Ramsey Park recently.
Because of their work at James Ramsey Park, the council asked the guides if they would like to plant the shrubs in the town centre.
Commenting, Guider-in-charge Jillian McLeod said: “This has been a great initiative for the girls to be part of as they work towards their Baden Powell Badge and help their local community.
“They’ll now be able to see the trees and shrubs grow over the years ahead.”
