A fire on grass near Fraserburgh Golf Club on Tuesday night was a good-length par four long - estimated at about 400 metres.
Firefighters were called to the area at about 7.15pm by concerned locals who had seen the blaze erupting.
At its maximum, 16 personnel were engaged in fighting the fire. There were two appliances from Fraserburgh and one from Peterhead.
Fire Control told us that approximately 1200 square metres of rough grass was affected by the fire.
The stop notice came at 8.06pm and the last vehicle left the scene at 8.30pm.
The Herald spoke to the office at Fraserburgh Golf Club yesterday morning and we were told that the course itself had not been at risk. Nobody had been ‘burning up the course’.
No one is believed to have been injured in the incident.
