Accountancy and business advisory firm Johnston Carmichael has raised over £1,100 for two local charities following fund-raising efforts by the company’s Broch office.

During 2013, Johnston Carmichael staff participated in a range of fund-raising events to raise money for Home-Start North East Aberdeenshire and Choices Fraserburgh.

The firm’s fund-raising activities included dress down days, a tea party with a royal theme and a quiz event. As a result, staff raised over £1,100 for the charities.

Commenting, Billy Smith said: “Johnston Carmichael is proud to support these two very worthwhile causes. Every year, all our offices select a local charity and we hope our efforts go towards supporting the brilliant work that Home-Start and Choices carry out in the community.

“Our Fraserburgh team has shown real determination to raise money and a passion for the two causes throughout the year long fundraising initiatives.”

The donation was presented by Johnston Carmichael partner Mike Pitman to Melanie Fraser of Home-Start North East Aberdeenshire and Elise Riddoch of Choices Fraserburgh at the accountancy firm’s Fraserburgh office at the end of last year.

Johnston Carmichael also announced that it raised over £6,500 in 2013 for firm-wide supported charity Help for Heroes, which supports wounded British Armed Forces personnel.

Johnston Carmichael has over 600 staff across Scotland.
