Top childrens author Cathy Cassidy visited Fraserburgh Academy on Tuesday May 10 to speak to 3 S2 classes.
The talk was also opened up to many of her fans within the school and around 85 pupils and staff were in attendance.
Cathy was born in Coventry and now lives in Galloway in Scotland. She studied at art school in Liverpool and has worked on teenage magazines “Jackie” and “Shout” as well as being an art teacher for a number of years .She is now a very popular author of books for young people and she has won and been on the shortlist for a number of book awards.
Cathy spoke to an attentive audience about her writing and her inspirations and she did a reading from “Cherry Crush” one of her latest books. Cathy has a new book “Marshmallow Sky” coming out soon.
Cathy spoke to pupils and then did a question and answer session before signing books either bought on the day or brought in by her many fans in the school.
The talk was partially funded by the Scottish Book Trust and was finished with Alexander Stephen giving the vote of thanks.
