Grampian Police are appealing for witnesses after graffiti vandals targeted public and private buildings in Saltoun Square and Baudleyhead areas of Fraserburgh.
Damage was caused to several properties in the area with graffiti being sprayed on public and private buildings.
Constable Andy Rankin, Crime Reduction Officer, said: “I appeal for anyone who may have information as to who is responsible to come forward and assist the police.
“I appreciate that graffiti is regarded as art by some, however, the law makes it an offence to indiscriminately grafitti walls and buildings.
“The taxpayer is the person at the end of the day who foots the bill for cleaning off the graffiti while many are working hard within the community to attract new businesses and more visitors to Fraserburgh.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Aberdeenshire Council offers a free graffiti removal service at present.
To contact them, call the council’s wasteline on 0845 600 3 900 or text 07624 802 722 with details of the location of the graffiti.
