A retiring principal from a Fraserburgh based college has been recognised with a lifetime achievement award at a North East business awards ceremony.
Rob Wallen, principal and chief executive of North East Scotland College (NESCol) was given the prize at the Northern Star Business Awards at the AECC last week.
Mr Wallen, who has been with the college for 25 years before announcing his retirement earlier this year, was given the award for his outstanding contribution to the region.
NESCol has a had a major economic impact in the North East since the Banff and Buchan College and Aberdeen College merged three years ago and Mr Wallen was made principal.
They take in £406.4 million per annum delivered from £33.1 million per annum invested by the government.
Chief executive of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce Russell Borthwick, who organises the event, said: “The Chamber is committed to celebrating business success.
“This is something that’s even more important when times are tough.”
