Ice-cream of the crop for Broch parlour

A Broch ice-cream parlour could be sinking its teeth into a sweet prize after it was nominated for a Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Award.

Partridge’s , on High Street, is up for the accolade of Best Ice Cream Parlour and is hoping to make it the whole way to the final ceremony in Glasgow this May.

Hamish Partridge, owner of the ice-cream shop, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that we have been nominated for the hospitality awards.

“We try to do the best that we can and we can only hope that people appreciate that we do.”

The family business owner said that he hopes, “the support he see’s from people the people coming through the door can turn into votes”, as Partridge’s becomes yet another Broch business recognised at a national level.

Mr Partridge, who is also a councillor for Troup, said: “At the end of the day it will be good for the whole of Fraserburgh.

“There’s a number of local people and local businesses that have bee nominated for awards and it helps to bring people in and see what we have to offer here.”

The awards say that, “The Scottish public are known for having a sweet tooth, and we want to find the venue serving up the best ice creams, desserts and shakes.”

A post on the parlour’s Facebook page said: “We are delighted to have been nominated in the “Best Ice Cream Parlour” category for all our delicious products in store, please keep voting for Partridge’s thank you.”

The Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards is the country’s largest and most prestigious hospitality event.

The top five venues with the most votes will qualify for the VIP final being held at the Glasgow City Hotel on Sunday May 8.

The closing date for voting is at the end of this month.
