An international sandwich shop food-chain will be opening in Fraserburgh later this year, creating at least ten jobs.
Subway will be opening its first Fraserburgh restaurant at 32 Broad Street with franchise owner Allan Paterson hoping it could be ready as early as October.
Mr Paterson, who also owns the Subway in Peterhead, said he was delighted to be bringing the sandwich shop franchise to the town.
He said: "We're happy to be coming to Fraserburgh and we hope that the quality and value of our food proves popular in the town.
"It's a great opportunity for Subway to continue north, we're in Peterhead and if we go to Fraserburgh hopefully we can continue up the coast."
The franchise owner said he felt their was a good market in the Broch for a new sandwich shop.
He said: "We find the Peterhead shop does really well, it's a popular choice for people up there and we're hoping that Fraserburgh is the same.
"There doesn't seem to be much in the way of sandwich shops in Fraserburgh so we're wanting to show people the quality of the food we serve."
The new Subway shop will bring around ten or twelve jobs to the town as it looks to fill team leader and sandwich artist positions.
Work has already started at the property on Broad Street and the shop fittings for the new restaurant will begin on September 12.
Mr Paterson is hopeful the new Subway will be up an running by "early October".
